Judith Plaenert Olson
Director
Judy is a retired from a career in the public sector. Judy's work included serving as a Planning Analyst for the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City of Park Falls. She was also a member of the Madison City Council and an aide to a former mayor, Mayor Sue Bauman.
As President of the Madison Public Library Foundation, Judy served as ex-officio on all committees and capital campaigns. Additionally she is a former member of the RSVP Board of Directors and Chair of its development committee.
Judy attributes her commitment to the Madison Public Library Foundation to her lifetime love and use of libraries. "As an only child whose family moved frequently, I found comfort and joy in reading. Through my school years I used the library primarily for information. Now I find information, inspiration and intellectual stimulation through its many resources. The library also fits my commitment to the democratic ideal of access to information that is free and available to all."
