Summer Reading Clubs Serve All Ages

–Have you signed up your family for the Summer Reading Clubs? Through August 30, kids can read books to earn prizes. Not only is it fun and a great reason to visit the library, but participation in the club keeps kids reading and learning all summer long.

Meadowridge Library Tours July 17, 25 & 31

–The foundation will lead several hard-hat tours this month to help you deepen your connection to the new Meadowridge Library through financial support. Tour dates are Thursday, July 17; Friday, July 25; and Thursday, July 31.

Madison Public Library holds fundraiser at Capital Brewery

WKOW–For the first time, Madison Public Library held a fundraiser at Capital Brewery in Middleton. Rock & Read raises money to help fund all 28 public libraries in Dane County. The event featured performances from local musicians, arts and crafts, and other activities for the whole family.

$45,000 in Grants to Support Teens, Technology & Job Training

Foundation News–Thanks to Annual Fund contributions, foundation grants totaling $45,100 will allow Madison Public Library to facilitate programs and technology for the benefit of library users of all ages.

320 Mystery Fans Attend Lunch for Libraries, Biggest Book Club Ever

Foundation News–Due in large part to the popularity of its featured author, award-winning mystery novelist Nevada Barr, the third annual Lunch for Libraries fundraiser sold out in record time.

Foundation Announces Book Fest Benefactors Program

Foundation News–To encourage private support for the Wisconsin Book Festival and recognize individual donors who make it possible, the foundation has created a Book Fest Benefactors program.

$30K Grant Spurs Community Phase of Meadowridge Campaign

Foundation News–A matching grant from the Madison Community Foundation intended to spur donations to the Meadowridge Library campaign will establish an endowment fund for the branch. For every $2 donated to Meadowridge Library during the community phase of this campaign, Madison Community Foundation will give $1, matching up to $30,000.

Summer Reading Club Registration Begins June 2

Friends of Pinney Host Author Erika Janik at Annual Meeting

Foundation News–Attendees of the Friends of Pinney annual meeting on April 27 were treated to a presentation by local author and historian Erika Janik, featuring her new book, Marketplace of the Marvelous: The Strange Origins of Modern Medicine.

Central Library Wins National Public Works Project Award

Foundation News–The Central Library rebuild was recently named one of the American Public Works Association national “Project of the Year Award” winners. This prestigious honor recognizes excellence in the management and administration of public works projects.
