Endowment, Restricted Funds Boost Library Collections, Services, Events
Foundation News–One of Madison Public Library Foundation's strategic goals is to establish endowment funds for Madison Public Library’s nine neighborhood locations. The funds sustain collections, programs, services and capital improvements. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the foundation dispersed more than $54,000 last year in endowment funds and dollars donated for a special purpose.
Bubbler’s Night Light Programming Helps Library Build Reputation as Popular Nightlife Venue
Foundation News–Madison Public Library earned the cover story spot in a recent issue of The Capital Times for its vibrant after-hours, arts-infused programming that attracts library users in their late teens, 20s and beyond. The author made the case for the library's growing reputation as a new evening-out destination for many Madisonians.
Winter Family Fun Night Series at Goodman South Madison Library Begins Feb. 13
Foundation News–The winter Friday Family Fun Night series at Goodman South Madison Library kicks off February 13, featuring a variety of programming that includes movies, crafts, science, animals and more. Nearly 1,000 children and their families attend Family Fun Night programs each year. Funding is provided by a Capital Times Kids Fund grant secured by the Madison Public Library Foundation, with additional funding from the Goodman South Madison Library’s foundation-fueled endowment fund.
Central Library Study Room Named in Memory of Longtime Foundation Donor
Foundation News–Madison Public Library Foundation recently named a study room in Central Library in memory of Dr. Margaret C. Winston, M.D., who died September 12, 2014, and quietly supported many local charitable efforts during her lifetime but only agreed to be recognized upon her death.
