Madison Public Library Foundation Receives $10K in Am Fam Insurance Championship Proceeds

Madison Public Library Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift that was part of the 2017 American Family Insurance Championship proceeds. The money will be used to support Madison Public Library's Summer Reading Program.

The event, in its second year, raised more than $1.6 million for charities, including $815,000 for the American Family Children's Hospital and $810,000 for more than 65 other nonprofit causes.

The Summer Reading Program encourages school-aged children to read with a variety of events and resources throughout the summer. The program especially targets underprivileged youth.

American Family Insurance partners with the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation to present the American Family Insurance Championship, which was held in June at University Ridge golf course in Madison, Wis. More than 65,000 spectators from 27 states attended during the three days of tournament play and nearly 1,000 volunteers from 13 states donated their time to take part in the event.
