New this year, Madison Public Library Foundation invites you to attend Wizards in Wonderland — a whimsical and family-friendly celebration of wizards and magic — at Central Library on Sunday, February 24.

Grab your broomstick and join us for activities, including:

  • Wizard-themed crafts and games for kids — slime, wands, bookmarks and more!
  • Dramatic Readings from Local Actors
  • Live Quidditch demonstration by the UW Quidditch team at 11am
  • Enchanting animals from our friends at the Dane County Humane Society
  • Face painting with Monroe Street Arts Center
  • Unique raffle items for the whole family to enjoy (A brand new bike, $250 Willy Street Co-Op Giftcard, and more!)

This winter celebration benefits Madison Public Library's Summer Reading Program, which is dedicated to keeping kids reading and learning all summer long.

Food will be available for purchase at the event from various vendors; however, it's not a true wizarding function without sugar! Schoep's will be on-hand providing free ice cream for all that attend. In addition to this, Sugarsmith Modern Cotton Candy will be making butter beer/butter scotch flavored cotton candy, and Clary's Old Fashioned Popcorn will be available for sale.

To become a corporate or family sponsor, please contact Tracy Phillippi,, or call 608.266.6318. Tickets are $15 per person or $20 per person after Friday, February 22 at 4 p.m.
