The Cap Times–The re-opening of the Central Library was a huge event in downtown Madison this weekend and readers were eager to get a sneak preview judging by the response to a photo gallery of a Thursday night fundraiser called “Stacked” that took place in the refurbished space.

Wisconsin State Journal–After it opens to the public on Saturday, visitors to the new Central Library, located at 201 W. Mifflin St., will be able to borrow an iPad or sign up for a class in audio engineering. They can lounge with a coffee bought at the library’s cafe, or dine on food brought in from a Downtown restaurant.

Central roof goes from grey to green

Foundation News–On May 13, a flatbed full of green sedum plants was delivered to the Central Library construction site. These plants will cover the library’s roof, absorbing rainwater and helping insulate the building. It will also provide library-goers a lush overlook as they sip coffee or enjoy a book in the sun on the third floor outdoor patio.
