Donate, Volunteer to Support Wisconsin Book Festival

Getting excited for the Wisconsin Book Festival? We know we are! The fall festival weekend, which this year is October 22-25, brings thousands of people to Madison for four days of delightful book programming. But your festival presenters — Madison Public Library, in partnership with Madison Public Library Foundation — can't do it alone. We need YOU to help us make it possible by making a contribution or donating your time.

Donations from book lovers are so important to continuing free festival programs that enrich the community and provide great discussions along with the exchange of ideas. To make a contribution on our Donate page by selecting the Wisconsin Book Festival in the options under "Allocate Your Funds."

Volunteers at the Book Festival do a wide variety of things: selling books, giving directions, helping people get their books signed, running an incredible author event, and much more. Volunteers are essential to a successful festival.

If you're interested in volunteering at the upcoming festival, please sign up online for one of our volunteer orientation sessions taking place this Sunday and Monday, Oct. 11-12.  If you have questions about volunteering at this year's Wisconsin Book Festival, please email wbfvolunteers@mplfoundation.org for more details.

We also need:

  • Volunteer Photographers. We can't be everywhere at once, so we are looking for volunteer photographers to share pictures of events happening outside of the Central Library.
  • Social Media Ambassadors. Always online? Share your enthusiasm for the festival via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
  • Data Entry Assistants. Help us quickly compile hundreds of event surveys over the four days of the festival.
  • If any of these opportunities interest you, please contact Tana Elias at 266-4953 or telias@madisonpubliclibrary.org for more information.
