Winnie Schlitz, 7, saved up her allowance and decided to donate it to Madison Public Library Foundation’s annual fund in support of the library’s collection. When asked why she decided to donate, she says, “I just thought it would be really awesome to donate to the library. The library is a really special place to me, and I just love it.”
Winnie visits Alicia Ashman Library with her parents at least once a week. “I love the library because I love books,” she says. “I love books because they take you on an adventure, and I just think that it’s awesome that there’s a place where you can read books and return them.”
Patrons like Winnie and the Schlitz family enable our libraries to expand the collection so all Madisonians have plenty of choices when they borrow materials. If you would like to make an annual fund gift to support the collection and other vital library efforts, such as technology staff professional development, visit our Donate page.
