Madison Public Library Foundation hosts two annual fundraising events: Lunch for Libraries in the spring and Ex Libris in the fall.

Lunch for Libraries features networking and an author talk, and is usually held in person at Monona Terrace Convention Center.

Our 2021 event featuring comic thriller writer Carl Hiaasen will be a virtual, live-streamed program, as was the 2020 Lunch for Libraries with acclaimed food journalist Mark Bittman. Lunch for Libraries proceeds support the Wisconsin Book Festival’s free, year-round author programming as well as Madison Public Library youth literacy efforts.

Ex Libris is a celebration of local craft beverages and culinary creations. Typically held in person at Central Library, our 2020 event was dubbed a “Box Set Edition” and featured a choice of beer, other beverages and food items packaged to go. Ex Libris proceeds go toward Madison Public Library collections, services and programs.
