Congratulations to Rachel Davidson, Community Engagement Librarian at Sequoya Library. Every year, the foundation provides a scholarship in memory of past librarian Elizabeth Moon Proctor. Established in memory of Elizabeth “Betsy” Moon Proctor, the scholarship fund encourages and assists Madison Public Library employees planning careers in library and information studies. Betsy enriched and enlivened Madison Public Library from 1967 until her retirement in 1996. Sequoya Librarian shared, “As a Community Engagement Librarian, I strive to align services and events with the community’s needs. I coordinate book discussions, cooking classes, blood drives, and our sewing club. Whenever possible, I try to advocate for my coworkers and support the team here at Sequoya, however I can.”
Rachel is working toward a Master of Library and Information Studies degree at UW-Madison. Receiving the Betsy Proctor Scholarship is a wonderful boost to help her finish her library degree.
