Elissa Russell, Madison Public Library Foundation’s Donor Relations Manager, recently earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. The certification is granted to individuals who have met standards of knowledge, skills, and commitment to fundraising effectively and ethically.

“We are all so proud of Elissa for the accomplishment of passing the test and for all of the hard work she put into the preparation,” said Executive Director Conor Moran. “Madison Public Library Foundation always strives to be an excellent steward of all gifts. Elissa having her CFRE will allow us to maintain the highest standards of ethics and service.”

To obtain the designation, Russell demonstrated a tenure in fundraising, passed a rigorous exam, and agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights created by CFRE International. The certification ensures accountability and professionalism during fundraising processes.

With her CFRE designation, Russell will continue to do great work for the foundation, with an added vote of confidence from the only globally recognized fundraising certification. Donors can feel confident they will be engaging with a professional who is committed to supporting our libraries and improving fundraising outcomes.
