Madison Public Library and Madison Public Library Foundation will sponsor a bicycle in Madison BCycle’s Art Bike Program, which aims to raise awareness for and bring attention to important causes in our communities.

The BCycle Art Bike Program will have 28 bikes and four BCycle stations featuring 20 pieces of artwork that represent local artists and local causes. The library’s We Read literacy program-inspired bike is being designed by former Bubbler Artist-in-Residence Emily Balsley, who continues to be a frequent arts partner with the library. The library and foundation will fund the artist’s design fees.

An Art Bike Unveiling will be held Thursday, June 10, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Garver Feed Mill on Madison’s east side. Leading up to the event, BCycle will feature a sneak peek of the Art Bikes on its social media. Following the June 10 Art Bike Unveiling, the Art Bikes will be sent out into the field to be publicly used.
