The Dream Bus

madison’s mobile library, visiting underserved neighborhoods

About the Dream Bus

Madison Public Library’s mighty Dream Bus has been bringing mobile library service to underserved communities around Madison and beyond since 2019. Operated by the library in partnership with Dane County Library Service and Madison Public Library Foundation, the Dream Bus provides visitors with a variety of library services, such as library card signup, book and video browsing, checkouts, free Wi-Fi, and more.

The Dream Bus is on the road five days per week, visiting locations such as the Allied Drive Learning Center, Monona Shores Apartments, Kennedy Heights Community Center, Sandburg Elementary School, Rolling Prairie Apartments, and more! Click the schedule button below for current neighborhood stops.

Gifts to the Dream Bus serve the whole Madison community — especially those who face transportation barriers in accessing library services. To provide a gift to power the Dream Bus, click the Donate button below.

The Dream Bus is made possible thanks to initial support from the Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Foundation; continuing support from Dane County Library Service, Madison Public Library Foundation, and Oscar Rennebohm Foundation; and additional support from Alliant Energy Foundation, Evjue Foundation (charitable arm of The Capital Times), Dick Goldberg, John Reindl, and Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation.
